Space physics and chemistry from ionized space plasmas to neutral planetary atmospheres are studied theoretically, through in-situ space probes on balloons, rockets and satellites, and through remote sensing from the ground. Major subdisciplines include ionosphere/magnetosphere, upper atmosphere and aeronomy, in-space propulsion, and comets and planets.
