Large Computer ClassRoom (LCCR)

The Large Computer ClassRoom (LCCR) consists of 28 workstations, 2 firewalls, 1 fileserver, 1 B&W LaserPrinter, and 2 projectors. The 28 workstations appear to be Windows-XP to the students, but are really Linux/VMware host-OS with Win-XP guest-OS. The workstations are core-2-duo with 2 GB RAM. Available applications include Microsoft Office XP, Open Office, Matlab, ARC/GIS, and a number of utilities and Open Source Applications. Use of the Linux side of these workstations requires a Linux account and extended computing support membership, but can provide access to background computing numbercrunch power.

Small Computer ClassRoom (SCCR)

The Small Computer ClassRoom (SCCR) consists of 20 workstations, 1 firewall, 1 fileserver, 1 B&W LaserPrinter, 1 large format poster plotter, and 1 projector. Server Room (SR)

Additional ESS Dept comuter server resources include the dept computer cluster (argon, neon, radon, krypton, and xenon) plus the hpc compute cluster (10 dual xeon compute nodes plus fileserver). Extended support membership is required for access to the hpc compute cluster. A dept account is required for the argon cluster.
