Field Trips:

Want to be a GeoClub officer for 2008-2009? Let Dyan (yondermountainbear@gmail.com) know if you do--send her some info about your qualifications/self to put up here!

Candidates so far:

Peter Neff -- President

I've got a lot of experience in our department and GeoClub, and so think that I'd make a good president for GeoClub.  I've worked in our department (Stable Isotope Lab) for the last 2 years now and am very involved with undergrad and grad students as well as many professors.  I really enjoy sharing my enthusiasm about geology and geoscience with others, and so love to plan field trips where a bunch of us can go learn about rocks together! Hopefully you all know me, and feel like I'd make a good leader....I'd like to be president. Also, I should have light classes and be mostly working on research so I may have more time to focus on GeoClub activities than this past year. I was totally GeoClub Secretary this year.

Janet Bautista -- VP or Secretary

I want to run, I just can't decide between VP and Secretary. If one of these positions has no one else running for it, that's the one I want to run for.  Otherwise I want to go for VP. I'm running for an office because I want to stay connected to the cool kids in the department and see some bitchin' geology.  I have a lot of leadership experience. I was senior class president for my high school.  One year, I organized my high school band's trip to California with minimal help from my teacher.  Where ever we decide to go on our trip next year, I think that my experience will be handy in the planning process.
