ESS 102 Class: Instructions for Students

The Space and Space Travel (ESS 102) course homepage has useful information including the curriculum, lecture notes, and copies of the weekly assignments.  There are also pictures and movies from the Water Rocket Competition and Rocket cars from last year. My guidelines are simple:
  • Attend all of the labs.
  • Participate in the labs.
  • Do all of the assignments on time (½ credit will be given for assignments up to a week late, otherwise no credit).
  • Phrase answers in your own words... you can paraphrase what you find online for the web assignments, but DO NOT cut and paste from the internet (see the following posting by the Political Science Dept. that discusses plagiarism and UW policies).
  • Contact me by e-mail to set an appointment if you have questions and can't make the office hours.
  • Have fun! That's why you are taking the class, isn't it? Ask questions, be thoughtful, participate... doing these things will make the course more enjoyable for you.
Office hours: 1:30-2:30 Wednesday in room 120 in Condon Hall.
