I'm a graduate student in the Glaciology Group in the Earth and Space Science Department at the University of Washington.

I study ice core physics, that is understanding the ice flow dynamics near ice cores to enhance the paleoclimate records from the ice core chemistry. Ice core physics are necessary to improve the dating of ice cores, which allows a timeline from which to compare an ice core to other ice cores, and to other paleo-proxies, including tree rings and ocean sediment cores.
