GEOLOGIC PHOTOS AND SATELLITE IMAGES

EPIC — the Easterbrook Photo / Image Center — is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide outstanding photos of geologic features, computer-enhanced satellite images, and computer-derived images from digital elevation models and LIDAR. Jointly affiliated with the Geological Society of America (GSA) and the University of Washington, EPIC is located in the Quaternary Research Center in the Earth and Space Sciences Department at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Available from EPIC are thousands of high-quality air and ground photos of geologic features from the classic collections of:
  • John Shelton
  • Ken Hamblin
  • Austin Post
  • Dave Rahm
  • Don Easterbrook
  • Kirk Anderson
  • Dave Evans
  • Lee Mann
and others, along with spectacular color satellite images of classic geologic areas by John Dohrenwend.

About the Photos and Images

EPIC images have been made available through the generous contributions of many photographers. Four categories of photos and images are available for purchase:

1. Sets of Powerpoint images of geologic features on CDs and 35mm slides
2. Custom individual digital images, slides, or prints selected from author collections on the EPIC website
3. Prints, enlargements, and posters selected from author collections on the EPIC website
4. Custom color satellite images of virtually any place on earth

Images may be used for non-commercial educational, research, or personal purposes. Higher resolution images are available for commercial purposes, including publication; however, images are copyrighted by EPIC or the photographers—thus requiring permission for reproduction, usually for a fee. Permission to reproduce images may be requested at epicgeophotos@yahoo.com.
