Pedlosky Notes
These are the lecture notes that will form the basis of the course. They are comprehensive, and a beautiful exposition of fluid dynamics as it relates to geophysical flows. Joe Pedlosky has taught the introductory graduate fluid dynamics course, 12.800, at MIT and WHOI for many years. He is correctly regarded as arguably the leading fluid dynamicist in the atmospheric and oceanic sciences. For at least a while, videos of his lectures can be found here.
