Position Data
Position track with respect to magnetic (CGM) and geographic coordinates (as of January 22, 2000) Final trajectory of MAXIS balloon (January 12-30, 2000).
Preliminary, quick look data

These data are provided as key-parameter data to summarize the observations made by the MAXIS auroral x-ray instruments. Please contact the MAXIS PI (Dr. Robert Lin) for further data inquiries.

Count rates
The plot to the left summarizes the GeD, PXRI, and CXRI count rates for the entire flight between January 12-30, 2000. Note two large auroral x-ray events on January 19-20, 2000 and January 22-26, 2000. Count rates for these events are shown below.
Count rates for the January 19-20, 2000 auroral x-ray event. Count rates for the between January 22-24, 2000. This event, extending through January 26, 2000 may have been associated with a period of disturbed solar wind conditions that may have included a CME interaction with the magnetosphere.
Count rates for the January 24-26, 2000 period.

File format is a list of big-endian {(int32) frame_counter, (int16) low cntr, (int16) high cntr}.
To convert frame counter to UT seconds (starting 1Jan70), use seconds=0.24998440718760273(frame_cntr) + 947647303.3471189
