24th Annual Seminar "Physics of Auroral Phenomena" (The Apatity Seminar) 27 February - 2 March 2001 Polar Geophysical Institute, Apatity, Russia

The 24th Annual Seminar "Physics of Auroral Phenomena" will be held on 27 February - 2 March 2001 in Polar Geophysical Institute, Apatity, Russia.

The Seminar subjects are traditionally wide: Sun, Solar Wind, Magnetosphere, Ionosphere, Atmosphere, as well as influence of geophysical phenomena on biological objects. The working language is Russian, but reports in English are also welcome.

The deadline for abstracts is 1st February 2001. The abstracts should be sent by e-mail to SEMINAR@pgi.kolasc.net.ru. Only abstracts written as ASCII file or in format of MSWord will be accepted. The abstracts (no more than 2000 characters) should be written in English.

The Russian Foundation for Basic Research has sponsored the Seminar, so some participants from Russia will receive a financial support to cover the travel expenses. Application for the support should be sent to the Organising Committee (along with the abstract).

It is suggested that participants will be accommodated in the hotels Amethyst, Isovella, and in the hotel of Kola Science Center. More information about the hotels will be sent with the Third Circular in the beginning of January 2001.
