Field Trips:

During the course of the year, Geo-Club will be organizing a series of short (1-2 day) field trips to locations of geologic interest in the Seattle area.  Starting with a trip to Mt St. Helen's in October, we will try to have at least one field trip per quarter during the 2006-2007 school year.  We also plan to have a longer trip over spring break in March of 2007.

Below, check out the photos from our Spring 2006 trip to Hawaii:

Sulfur minerals coating a rock at a fumarole.

Lava lake.

Leif and Alexis grinning uncontrollably at the sight of lava.

The entrance to the lava tube.

Tara with fashionable headlamp inside the tube.

Leif for scale on a lava tumulus.

Does this really need any explanation?

Apparently, there's something more interesting
over there...
